Poland and coal
Poland is a large producer and consumer of coal. In 2019, it produced 112.2 million tonnes. [1] As of 2018, coal provides half of Poland's primary energy, including 80% of its electricity. [2] The government, using the slogan 'Poland stands on coal', [3] claims it is a strategic fuel guaranteeing energy security.
