The New Holland 355 mill is one of the best ever made. If it is in good condition it will bring a lot more than $2950. Parts for the NH mill will be easier to get at this time. Neither Gehl or NH make grinder mixers anymore. The worry with Gehl is they are dropping support for the majority of the agriculture equipment.

Consider a new holland 352 or 353. They were probaly the most popular grinders ever built.I see 3 new hollands to every one gehl and ten new hollands to every one IH or .You have plenty of power as when the other tractors were busy we used a 2510 (54hp) or even a 2040 (40hp).

Its been a while, but I think I used the 1" screen the last time I tried to crack corn with my gehl. I ran the tractor at not much more than a fast idle. I've found 1500 rpms, no screen and load the intake full gives you a few whole kernels, mostly cracks, and a little powder. I've been experimenting with some hammers I've made that are more of a blunt edge as opposed to the square sharp edges, but have a hard time getting things balanced properly. Had to get in mixer tank with shop vac hose through access cover at bottom with scrapers and other long handled tools.
Our old 352 is completely wore out and saw that 355 advertized at a local dealer. According to the Arts Way website, they supposedly do NH OEM work. ... Remember that green paint is high priced, replaced the hammers last year JD wanted $14.50 a piece, called a mill supply place, said they would make them for me. Just a splined shaft in the top of the gearbox with the mixing auger setting on it. No keyway, or set screw in the 355. Back to top.
